Fix minor imperfections for white, natural and healthy looking teeth
Are your teeth:
- Crooked?
- Misshapen?
- Cracked?
- Discoloured?
If you’re unhappy with your smile, veneers can help!
There are several ways veneers can improve the overall appearance of you smile. They can correct minor irregularities in the shape of your teeth, improve their length and fill in small gaps, as well as hide discolouration. Sometimes they can even help teeth appear straighter.
With veneers you can achieve your dream smile and regain your confidence. You won’t be able to stop yourself from grinning!
What is a dental veneer?
Veneers are made from thin layers of porcelain and each one is custom-designed and permanently bonded with a strong adhesive onto the surface of the tooth.
Very little preparation to the underlying tooth is needed so the process is quick, pain-free and non-damaging to your natural teeth. It’s easiest to think of veneers as being like false nails that you stick on top of your real nails. A very small amount of your tooth enamel will need to be removed first (roughly equal to the thickness of the veneer), which may or may not be done under local anaesthetic.
Your dentist will then make a model or impression of your teeth, which is sent to a dental laboratory who will construct your veneer(s). Before fitting, your dentist will temporarily place the veneer to your tooth to examine its fit and colour. Once you’re both happy, your veneers will be fitted. Say hello to your brand new, dazzling smile!
Aftercare
Once fitted, veneers should be long-lasting – but they can be broken or chipped. Caring for your veneers is much like caring for your natural teeth, but your dentist will advise you about ways to keep your smile in tip-top condition.
What’s the next step?
We will arrange a consultation so you can come and discuss what you’d like to change about your smile and ask us any questions you may have about the process. During your consultation your dentist will examine your teeth to make sure veneers are a suitable option. They’ll show you some before and after photos of past cases, explain more about the procedure – including expected results – and give you a detailed treatment plan, including a full cost breakdown.
To discuss this further or book your consultation please fill out a contact form and we will be in touch.
